FAQ

This document is intended to help answer some of the most Frequently Asked Questions.  If your question is not answered here, feel free to contact us at info@jaxworld.com for fast, courteous answers.

Q:  I would like to use PayPal as my payment method, but I do not have a PayPal account.

A:  A PayPal account is not required in order to use your major credit card or debit card on the PayPal server.  You will see this option after you are taken to the PayPal site to complete the payment portion of the order.

You also have the option of opening a PayPal account.

Q:  On my way through checkout, I filled in my billing address, and clicked "Next," but the PayPal site did not open in a new browser window.  In fact, nothing seemed to happen.

A:  If your popup blocker is enabled, disable it.  It could possibly be misinterpreting the new browser window as an unwanted popup.  PayPal also suggests that you clear your browser's history, cache, and cookies before proceeding to their site.

Q:  I would like to use my PayPal account to pay for my purchase, and I would like to use an alternate shipping address.  Is this O.K.?

A:  Based upon PayPal's recommendation, we will ship your order only to your confirmed address on  file with PayPal.  This is for our mutual protection.

Q:  If I make a purchase on the PayPal server using my major credit card, can I designate an alternate shipping address?

A:  If your billing address matches the information on file with your financial institution, we will be happy to send your package to any address you wish.  Your billing address is the address at which you receive your monthly credit card statement.

The first form you will encounter during the checkout process will say, 'Billing Address Information.'  At the bottom of this form, you will see a radio button.  Next to the button, it will say, 'Deliver to a different address.'  Click on the radio button to select it, and click on 'Next' at the bottom of the page.  You will be taken to a form where you can list an alternate shipping address.

Then, click "Next" to enter PayPal's site.

Q:  Can I place a phone or fax order?

A:  Presently, we do not process manual transactions.  There may be accountability and security issues that could affect us both.  It is in our mutual best interests that you complete the ordering process online.

Q:  When I place an item in my shopping basket, a little box comes up with the price [and the reduced price if the item is on sale].  But, I also see 'ex Tax' next to the price.  What does it mean?

A:  'ex Tax' means excluding tax.  Only Ohio residents pay sales tax, and it is added during the checkout process based upon their county of residence.

Q:  What if I want to order a ring in a size not shown?

A:  We are not usually able to obtain rings in sizes other than those shown next to each product.  There are two exceptions:

  1. Some Black Hills Gold Rings are available in sizes other than those listed.
  2. On rare occasions, Native American handcrafted rings are made in sizes not listed.

To see if we can help you with either 1 or 2 above, just e-mail us and tell us the Item Number and the size you need - sales@jaxworld.com

Q:  Once I place an order, how long will it take to reach me?

A:  The general mail-out window is 'seven days or less.'  We offer thousands of products from a variety of different supply sources, so a general window covers just about every possible contingency.  Contributing factors include order volumes, product availability, time of the day/week/year your order is received, and so on.

It rarely takes the entire seven days to process and mail an order, but some of the Native American handcrafted pieces can be rather hard to find at times.  Those who covet this type of jewelry already know that--and don't mind waiting a bit longer to get their order.

Q:  If I choose Express Mail as my shipping method, will that shorten the mail-out window?

A:  No.  The general mail-out window is not affected by the mailing method you choose.  All purchases are processed in the order received.  It is the only way to ensure fair treatment for all customers.  Once we mail your package, Express Mail will most certainly get it to you faster than the less expensive option of  Priority Mail.

Q:  Where are your suppliers located?

A:  We have suppliers in New Mexico, Arizona, and South Dakota.

Q:  What happens if you discover the products I want won't be available for more than seven days?

A:  We will contact you right away to let you know.  At that point, you have several options:

  1. Wait for the products to become available.
  2. Choose other items from our shop.
  3. Cancel the order.

The decision is entirely yours.  You are the boss.

Q:  Why are Navajo and Zuni items sometimes hard to get?  Why isn't the supply more readily available?

A:  Most of the artists work independently.  Many work from their homes at their own pace.  In a nutshell, they make what they make when they make it.  In truth, only a few artists have difficulty keeping up with demand.  Most produce their beautiful pieces in sufficient numbers to meet or exceed demand.

Q:  Do you sell wholesale?

A:  We can often offer substantial discounts off retail, but we are strictly retailers.  We do not hold a wholesale license.

Q:  I am interested in purchasing a genuine bear claw pendant, but I'm not sure if it is legal in my state.  How do I find out?

A:  Laws vary widely from state to state regarding the possession of bear claws.  Normally, you can find the answer by contacting the law enforcement division of your state's Department of Natural Resources [DNR].  Our research is ongoing, but here is what we know so far:

It is legal to possess bear claws in the following states:  Alabama, West Virginia, Idaho, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois, New Mexico, California, Michigan and Colorado.  The usual stipulation is that the claws must be legally acquired outside of the state to which they are being shipped.

It is not legal to possess and/or ship bear claws into the following states:  Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Here's a good example of how confusing the law can be.  New Jersey residents can possess bear claws which are legally acquired outside New Jersey, but it is not legal to ship them into New Jersey.  So, for New Jersey residents, our answer must be no.

If we did not list your state, it is because we do not yet know whether or not it is legal in your area.

Q:  Do you make any of the jewelry yourselves?

A:  No.  We are retailers, not craftsmen.  We leave the art and science of jewelrymaking to the experts.

Q:  Do you repair jewelry?

A:  No.  We do not operate a repair facility.  Generally, our suppliers will undertake repairs if it is a piece they originally made.

Q:  Do you send out catalogs?

A:  Basically, our online store is our catalog.  Products are deleted/added at such a rapid pace these days, a print catalog would be obsolete before the ink was dry on the pages.

Q:  What if I order something and I need to return it?

A:  You may return any item within 30 days of having received it.  Our address is located on the 'About Us' page.  Regardless of how detailed our images are, sometimes the only way to know for sure whether or not the piece(s) you ordered will meet with your approval is to try them on for fit and appearance.  There are only two instances when returns will not be accepted.

  1. The 30 day return window has passed.
  2. The items(s) arrive here damaged.

If you return the item(s) undamaged within 30 days, you have two options.  You may request a refund of the purchase price, or you may exchange the pieces for other items.
