FAQ

This document is designed to help answer some of the most frequently asked questions posed by our customers.  If your question is not answered here, feel free to contact us at info@jaxworld.com for fast, courteous answers.

Q:  I would like to use PayPal as my payment method, but I do not have a PayPal account.

A:  You have two options available to you.  1.  You can open a PayPal account.  Or, 2.  You may pay using any major credit card or your debit card once you reach the PayPal site.  A PayPal account is not required in order for you to use a major credit card or your debit card.

Q:  I want to make a purchase using my PayPal account, and designate an alternate shipping address.  Is this O.K.?

A:  We will ship products only to your confirmed address on file with PayPal.  If you have not confirmed your address with them, they will block payment at our request.  This is not just for our protection, but yours as well.

Q:  I chose PayPal as my payment method, filled in my Billing Address, and clicked "Next," but the PayPal site does not open in a new browser window.  In fact, nothing seems to happen.

A:  If you have popup blockers enabled, it is suggested that you disable them.  It is possible your popup blocker misinterpreted the new browser window containing PayPal's site as an unwanted popup.

Q:  I notice that when I enter my major credit card details and press 'Send Order,' my screen goes blank and seems to freeze.  What is happening?

A:  There is nothing wrong.  Transactional processing and authorization can take anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes.  Internet traffic, server speed, and your connection method can affect the time it takes to complete the process.  Your browser screen will remain blank until the process has been completed.

Note:  It is in your best interest to refrain from using the 'Back' and 'Forward' buttons on your browser after you have clicked 'Send Order.'  Using the Back and Forward buttons may result in one or more duplicate transactions.

Q:  If I make a purchase using my major credit card, can I designate an alternate shipping address?

A:  If your billing address matches the information on file with your financial institution, we will be happy to send your package to any address you wish.  Your billing address is the address at which you receive your monthly credit card statement.

The first form you will encounter during the checkout process will say, 'Billing Address Information.'  At the bottom of this form, you will see a radio button.  Next to the button, it will say, 'Deliver to a different address.'  Click on the radio button to select it, and click on 'Next' at the bottom of the page.  You will be taken to a form where you can list an alternate shipping address.

Q:  When I place an item in my shopping basket, a little box comes up with the price [and the reduced price if the item is on sale].  But, I also see 'ex Tax' next to the price.  What does it mean?

A:  'ex Tax' means excluding tax.  Only Ohio residents pay sales tax, and it is added during the checkout process based upon their county of residence.

Q:  What if I want to order a ring in a size not shown in the Quick-Buy Shop?

A:  The Quick-Buy shop contains only those ring sizes available for immediate shipping.  Other sizes may be ordered from our Main Shop.  You may enter it from our main page at http://www.jaxworld.com .

Q:  Once I place an order, how long will it take to reach me?

A:  The general mail-out window from our Quick-Buy Shop is 'immediately.'  As soon as we receive notification of your order, it is packed and mailed [within Post Office operating hours].

Q:  I noticed that I can choose between Priority Mail and Express Mail as my shipping method.  Which one is better?

A:  It depends upon your personal situation.  Priority Mail generally takes 2-3 business days to reach you.  It is less expensive than Express Mail, but it is not a guaranteed service.  If it takes longer than 2-3 business days, the Postal Service will not refund the mailing cost.  Priority Mail is not delivered on Sundays or major U.S. holidays that occur during the week [Monday thru Friday].

Express Mail generally takes 1 or 2 calendar days to reach you.  It is more expensive than Priority Mail, but it is a guaranteed service.  If the Postal Service cannot deliver your package according to the guarantee they give when the package is mailed, they will refund the mailing cost.  Express Mail is delivered seven days a week to major metropolitan areas.  If you live in a very small town, or a remote area, your local postmaster may opt not to staff the facility on Sundays.

Q:  What if I don't see anything I like in the Quick-Buy Shop?

A:  Our Main Shop may be the answer.  It is designed to offer a much larger selection of products.  It contains well over 1200 items to which we have access.  You may enter the Main Shop from our main page - http://www.jaxworld.com .

Q:  Where are your suppliers located?

A:  We have suppliers in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and South Dakota.

Q:  What happens if you discover the product[s] I chose from the Quick-Buy Shop were sold out just before I made my purchase?

A:  We will contact you right away to let you know.  At that point, you have several options:

  1. Wait for the product[s] to become available.  We can usually replenish within a few days.
  2. Choose other items from our Quick-Buy Shop.
  3. Cancel the order.

The decision is entirely yours.  You are the boss.  If you choose #1 above, we will honor the Quick-Buy price in effect at the time of your purchase.  Quick-Buy prices are generally much lower than normal retail prices.

Q:  Why are Navajo and Zuni items sometimes hard to get?  Why isn't the supply more readily available?

A:  Most of the artists work independently.  Many work from their homes at their own pace.  In a nutshell, they make what they make when they make it.  In truth, only a few artists have difficulty keeping up with demand.  Most produce their beautiful pieces in sufficient numbers to meet or exceed demand.

If you see an item listed in our Quick-Buy Shop, we have at least one unit in stock.

Q:  Do you sell wholesale?

A:  We can often offer substantial discounts off retail, but we are strictly retailers.  We do not hold a wholesale license.

Q:  I am interested in purchasing a genuine bear claw pendant, but I'm not sure if it is legal in my state.  How do I find out?

A:  Laws vary widely from state to state regarding the possession of bear claws.  Normally, you can find the answer by contacting the law enforcement division of your state's Department of Natural Resources [DNR].  Our research is ongoing, but here is what we know so far:

It is legal to possess bear claws in the following states:  Alabama, West Virginia, Idaho, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois, New Mexico, California, Michigan and Colorado.  The usual stipulation is that the claws must be legally acquired outside of the state to which they are being shipped.

It is not legal to possess and/or ship bear claws into the following states:  Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Here's a good example of how confusing the law can be.  New Jersey residents can possess bear claws which are legally acquired outside New Jersey, but it is not legal to ship them into New Jersey.  So, for New Jersey residents, our answer must be no.

If we did not list your state, it is because we do not yet know whether or not it is legal in your area.

Q:  Do you make any of the jewelry yourselves?

A:  No.  We are retailers, not craftsmen.  We leave the art and science of jewelrymaking to the experts.

Q:  Do you repair jewelry?

A:  No.  We do not operate a repair facility.  Generally, our suppliers will undertake repairs if it is a piece they originally made.

Q:  Do you send out catalogs?

A:  Our best, most up to date catalog is our online store.  Product additions and/or deletions occur so rapidly these days that a print catalog would be obsolete before the ink dried on the pages.

Q:  What if I order something and I need to return it?

A:  You may return any item within 30 days of having received it.  Our address is located on the 'About Us' page.  Regardless of how detailed our images are, sometimes the only way to know for sure whether or not the piece(s) you ordered will meet with your approval is to try them on for fit and appearance.  There are only two instances when returns will not be accepted.

  1. The 30 day return window has passed.
  2. The items(s) arrive here damaged.

If you return the item(s) undamaged within 30 days, you have two options.  You may request a refund of the purchase price, or you may exchange the pieces for other items.
